German software company Pwsoft announced today the release of their mood-mixing- algorithm as DLL-dynamic link library to be added to any kind of digital music software or hardware.

For the growing number of music listeners that are fed up with having to put their music mix together by hand- the Moodmixer provides the perfect solution for real and full playlist automation. Based on a personal rating system which can either be set personally by the listener or provided by any kind of digital music distributor the algorithm selects music automatically according to given mood settings such as tempo, energy, mood, age or beat and a preference weighting. The higher the weighting of a song the more often it gets played. Basis for any playlist is a given song collection Moodmixer is allowed to choose songs from.
“Imagine you could send perfect endless playlists to your mp3-player with the touch of a few buttons”, says Pwsoft’s CEO Kerstin Laveatz. “The crucial bit is the weighting of songs.
If you had 10 songs in a playlist- one of them you liked best- now how often would you want to have this song played? And even those songs you don’t like best, wouldn’t you still want to listen to them now and then?”
In the last two years the developers of Moodmixer have put all their knowledge and experience from working for more than 20 years in the radio music business into a smart algorithm that displays an enormous sensitivity for the listeners’ desires but also for their tolerance for repeating songs.
The result is- highest possible variation- almost never repeating playlists- always the perfect mix and all songs get played.
