The play list window hosts all settings for the production of play lists. (see also Play lists for which purpose?) :

pleng

1   For what purpose do I need the playlist?

datum zeitpl If active a date and time dependant playlist ( ie.. Mo-Fr. always 8-12 am) will be played (if you happen to run the streaming mode(see blow) the running Programm will be interrupted and the planned playlist will be played at the desired time).

zeitlängepl If active a playlist for a certain amount of hours will be produces. One can load this playlist at any time from WinAmp.

The exact definition of each kind of playlists and their settings you can read in their respective chapters.

2   Select want list or title collection

Here a predefined want list or title collection can be selected as basis for the playlist. The dropdown menu hosts all available lists to choose from:

klappaufpl

Like in the Moodmixer-Explorer a title collection is labelled with a sammelicon Icon , want lists are labelled with this suchlisteniconbmp Icon.

As soon as one has selected a list, the Info-panel (8) displays the amount of available titles and additional informations .

3   Choose period/date/time etc.

Depending on the kind of playlist, one can make several settings which are described further in each chapter of the playlist kind.

4   Narrow down choice

With the slide controls one can narrow down the amount of titles respective to their ratings.

controlspl

all            just makes life easier: if set everythings back to default: all titles with any kind of rating will be selected ( apart from 0 values, unless the "exclude 0 values" has been deselected in the playlist settings)

Preference including 0 values   Normally titles with preference value 0 will not be selected for playlists unless one checks this box.

the other 4 criteria   depending on which is checked the playlist will only uses titles with the selected ratings.

How to use the slide controls ( to either set one value or a range) is described in the chapter date and time dependant playlists.

5   Restrictions

restriction

Title/group      if set, Moodmixer takes care that the same title will not be played consecutively.

Artists/-group    if set, Moodmixer takes care that the same artist will not be played consecutively.

previous day    if set, Moodmixer takes care that the same title will not be played within a set delta before and after the time it has been played the previous day. The "previous day" restriction is only active for date dependant and streaming playlists and only works if played titles of the previous day have been saved in the logfile available.

F Attention: prolonging the delta can slow down the production of a playlist considerably!

without soundfile      if set, Moodmixer takes care that titles without matching soundfile will not be chosen for the playlist.

6   Filter

filterplgen

Length      if set, Moodmixer takes care that only titles with a minimum length up to a set maximum will be used for the playlist. One has to enter the length in seconds. This filter prevents that extremly long or short titles disturb the flow of the playlist.

7   BPM-Check ( beats-per-minute)

bpmcheckeng

Delta      if set, Moodmixer takes care that consecutive titles will not be faster or slower in tempo than the set delta value. So there won't be any massive tempo jumps if one doesn't want them. The possible delta value is being calculated by the Moodmixer, but can be altered by hand also.

F Attention: the BPM-Check only works if all titles have a valid BPM value!!!!
F   Attention : By hand altered BPM-deltas can slow down the production of the playlist considerably !!!!

+value      if Moodmixer cannot find anymore matching titles, because for example the BPM-delta has been set too tightly, then it is allowed to enlarge the tempo-delta. The +value indicates how many BPMs it is allowed to add, in order to find more available titles. The higher this value, the easier it is for Moodmixer to find matching titles again.

8   Info

Depending on the kind of playlist, the Info-panel displays all kinds of information:

Depending on wich list( want list or title collection) is chosen, what kind of rating value are set and how many restrictions have been made- it displays the amount of plannable titles:

infopl

In addition it shows, on the left the amount of different artists of these plannable titles, the overall length of all these titles, the average songfile length, the set min. and maximum of the preference value and the min. and max. values of available BPM values ( of these plannable titles).

While Moodmixer is producing a playlist, the bottom left displays the selected titles one after the other.

On the right one can watch the planning of the titles whilst producing the playlist. It shows the date and/or time for when the title ist planned and the running title number.

selectionprocess

Also on the left window side one can see how the playlist is slowly filling up once one has pressed the [OK] button.

fillupselection

If you are in the streaming mode - the Info-panel can display a kind of preselection of possible titles. The titles are simply reference, in order to show what kind of combination of titles the actual streaming would produce. Good to check if the mix is right!

9   Abort / OK=Start

With the Abort- abbruchundweg- button one can stop a playlist production, with the okay-button one starts the selection process for the playlist production.
