PL for non-stop play,home-streaming

Everybody who wants to have music running in the background all the time ( especially interesting for commercial use) and who doesn't want to be bothered taking care of the music most of the time, need the Moodmixer-Mixer- the streaming module.

The Mixer works a bit like radio- you turn it on and it is continuously running- the only difference you don't have anyone talking inbetween. You only have to listen to your own music- the much better mix!

Most people know the term "streaming" from the internet as "direct streaming"- a constant flow of music data. With the Moodmixer-Mixer you don't need an internet connection- you strem from your own harddisk.

The Mixer-play list isn't really a play list at all because there is no defined end to it. The Moodmixer calculates the selection of titles according to its settings while the music is playing. As soon as any setting has been altered and the [new mix]-button has been pressed the mixer changes the the music selection accordingly. From the next title onwards the new settings are valid!

Because you might want to have this tool on your desktop for longer- we have designed it individually:

The Moodmixer-Mixer can be used almost in the same way as the play list generator..

GATTENTION : The MoodmixerMixer will always finish a title first before reacting to the new settings. If you want to skip a title you need to press the skiptitle [Skip]-Button in the Mixer:

skip

The other buttons work like in winamp.

For the streaming non-stop play you only need a few settings:

The sequence should be:

1.Select a title collection or want list
2.if you have scheduled playlists, turn on the [play scheduled play lists]-button
3.Set slider controls
4.Set restrictions, filter and if all songs have a BPM value, set a delta for it too
5.Klick onto the Moodmixer-Mix it- Logo in order to start a new selection process.

Select a title collection or want list:

You select a title collection or want list exactly in the same way as in the play list generator: simply open the dropdown menue at the top.

turn on: play scheduled play list: If active a scheduled play list will start to be played at the scheduled time- the Mixer pauses in the meantime and continues the regular streaming when the play list is finished.

Select slider control settings:

These five controls are named after your rating categories. With each slider you can set individual values or a range of values.
Apart from the first slider( always has to be active) you can activate and deactivate the other four sliders. Simply hover across their name and select [active] to enable them or [inactive] to disable them.
Inactive sliders are blue.

In order to select a value range you simply pull the slider to one value, klick on it and pull the slider with pressed mouse to the second value. The range will then be highlighted in yellow.
In order to simply select a single value just pull the slider to its destination and klick onto the slider once.

You can also set if you want to have songs with 0-value added to the selection. This is being done in the menu of the first slider [Preference]. [top value : incl. '0'] for the preference slider or [lower value : incl. '0' ] for the other four sliders.

In addition you can activate/deactivate all other four sliders at once.

F Note: If you do use songs with a 0-value they will be played even less than songs that have been rate with value 1 .

With some settings of the slider Moodmixer might not be able to find matching titles. You will be prompted to change the settings in that case.

Operations:   at the top right of the mixer you find another drop-dwon menue that hosts some more functions:

operations

Mixer settings:   Depending on the current mixer settings you can save them and reload them when needed. The settings will be saved in a file that ends with *.mnd .

Open database:   opens the database tool
Help:         opens this topic in the help file

Set restrictions, filter and bpm settings:

resatrictionsmixer

Restrictions, filter and bpm-settings( for BPM-settings all songs in a chosen list have to have BPM values!!!) can be activated by clicking onto each button( yellow=active, blue=disabled). Their functionality is the same as in the play list generator.

Title/-Groups      if set, Moodmixer takes care that the same title will not be played in sequence.

Artists/-Groups      if set, Moodmixer takes care that the same artist will not be played in sequence.

F Attention: If you set the artist restriction please make shure that you have assigned artists to all you songs in the respective list. All titles with an empty artist field will be treated as the same artist!!!!

Prior day         if set Moodmixer takes care, that the same title will not be played in a period around the same time as the day before. The delta defines the period of time before and after the occurred play ( I.e. 60 minutes= the title cannot be played for two hours). The prior day restriction wll only be used for date dependant play lists and the mixer- non-stop streaming because their title selection depends on titles played the day before. f

F Attention: Prolonging a delta can prolong the selection time because you have less titles that can be played!

without sound file      if set Moodmixer takes care that no song will be selected that hasn't got a connected sound file to it. ( This is important if you also use sound files from removable devices)

Length         if set Moodmixer takes care tha only titles will be chosen that have a minimal and/or maximal length. You have to enter the desired max. and min. values in seconds. This filter prevents corrupted files of to long or short tiltes from being played.

BPM- Delta         if set Moodmixer takes care that songs played in sequence don't differ in tempo more than the set delta value. The possible delta value is being calculated automatically, but can be altered manually.

F Attention : The BPM-Check only works properly if all songs in a list have a valid bpm value!

F   Attention: BPM-Delta that have been altered manually can prolong the selection process.

+ value      If it happens and the settings of the BPM-delta are too tight so that Moodmixer cannot find anymore matching titles it will loosen the BPM rule step by step. The +value defines the amount bpms that will be added to the original delta. After each step it tries to find matching titles if it doesn't find any it takes another step up.

Now you are just a click onto the Moodmixer-Logo mmlogo away for the selection to start.
Everytime you change any settings you have to press this button again for the changes to take effect.

First searching for titles...........
clip0001checking

then checking titles and initializing... and then running
streaming

In most cases the selection process is very fast, if you are using a title collection or want list with more than 2000 ( a collection 0f 20000 titles takes roughly 25 seconds ).

You you don't alter the settings but only choose a different list then you don't have to press the button.

View/Hide Mixer:   as long as the Moodmixer-Mixer is running you can minimize it to the systray .

systray

On right mouse click onto the Moodmixericon in the tray you can restore it back to full view, close it, close both winamp and the Mixer and open the database.
