Profile/rate titles
Top  Previous  Next

If you really want to produce playlists that are mixed at their best and mirror exactly your requirements and your mood - you have to profile and rate these titles.

The profiling/ rating criteria should have been already defined in the program settings definiert, the first category should always reflect your preference ( favourites, liking)
If you have now decided on the other criteria as well you can start profiling.

You can rate titles in every title collection but also in wantlists - you can not rate titles in a finished play list table!
All rating can be done separately, directly in the table or a whole bunch of titles as mass rating.

In some cases it could be clever to set up a new title collection or want list especially for the rating process. You can always delete those lists later, after you have finished.

You can enter each rating value directly into the respective columns and fields.

In order to do some mass rating you have to go through the following process:

1) Select all titles from a collection or want list, you want to rate with either [left mause click into emtpty left column + shift] or [ mouse click + Ctrl], then press the right mouse button in the left empty column and select the menu option [change song- ratings] or simply use the bewertenicon rating icon.

The rating module opens :

ratingseditor

There are 5 switches for the five rating criteria you have defined. Each switch can be activated separately. Only activated critera will be rated. I

G You don't have to rate all criteria at once- you can rate them separately!

The small boxes right of the criteria is where you enter the appropriate rating value.

ratingsset

Accept the rating values with the okay- button and these values will be entered into the database.

G Tipp : everytime you have rated a bunch of titles - don't click into the table right away (that will remove the marking of the titles) ! If by chance you had rated wrongly you can use the [change song ratings] again ( since titles are still selected) to undo the last rating.

If you realize too late that you have made a mistake you can also search for titles that have been changed at the actual date and since that table also displays the time you can probably easily find them again.

If you do a mass rating of many titles you can actually view how Moodmixer enters those new values bit by bit into the database. ( i.e 5000 titles take up roughly 15-20 seconds on a 2,4 Ghz PC)

You can also rate titles in the title editor titeländernicon! Then its being done via the controllers in the editor window:
