Why does my play list consist of more titles with lower preference value?
Top  Previous  Next

Of course Moodmixer mixes the titles for the play lists with high diversity and allways taking the users preference into account.

But even Moodmixer can produce undesired results.

Here is an example:

You might want to produce a play list from a title collection that consists of loads of titles with preference value 5 but only 2 titles with the highest preference value 10( most liked).

If Moodmixer would only take the users preferences into account but nothing else- in this case that would mean that either one of these 2 titles with value 10 would be played every fourth title. In the worsed case this would mean that each value 10 title would be heard 4 times in an hour.

In some cases this might exactly be what the users want- but our guess was that this quickly gets on your nerves.

Moodmixer calculates the sequence of titles not only according to their preference value but also according to the relative amount of titles per preference value in the selected title collection or want list.

The result: In our example you will have a lot more titles being played that have the value 5, in relation to their actual amount the 2 titles with value 10 will still be played more often, but don't get on your nerves.
