What kind of playlists are there?
Top  Previous  Next

In the Moodmixer playlists are not simply playlists. Each different kind serves a different purpose.

Here are the possibilities:

The most simplest method: Export a want list or a title collection as M3u m3u.

- this has many disadvantages::

The actual length of the playlist depends on the amount of titles, if you need more playing time than that- you have to restart or shuffle the playlist.
Apart from that , these lists are always sorted in some kind.

Another easy methos : Via the menu option [Lists- generate playlists ] or the playlist icon playicon one can access Moodmixer's playlist generator:

Once one has chosen the basis for the playlist, one has to select the purpose:

There are three different kinds of playlist available :
1.   A playlist for a certain period on one or more days datehrs:

Example: On tuesday 05/29/2004 you will have guests, with a special taste in music. No problem- you can produce the playlist today for the actual date, and provided on that day you have the Moodmixer running it will play this playlist at the desired time. This can actually help if producing an online radio or in general if someone depends on certain music to be played at certain times.

2.   A playlist of a planned length hours:

You are planning an event that will roughly take 10 hours until the last guest finally leave- you can produce a playlist and start it by hand exactly when the first guests arrive. At least you know, that you don't have to keep an eye on the music!

3.   Streaming- continous play with our Mixer:

Even more flexible: here one doesn't actually produce a playlist but simply sets the settings for the music to be played. If you have a large enough pool , this setting is very flexible, because whilst the streaming is running on the Moodmixer- unit you can alter your criteria values according to your and your guests mood. I.e. you have put together a nice title collection which while playing is ie. set to rather slow, background music - and after dinner you simply pull up the sliders and play dancable party music. You can also change the streaming basis altogether and Moodmixer adapts at once. Later on you "mix" the music selection back to slower, quieter music, very melodically and more to chill out to.
