Technical facts that might help you

  • I want to convert all my music I have on CD into mp3-files. How do I go about that?:

Moodmixer and PWsoft recommend the software EAC-Exact Audio Copy.It is a freeware tool to rip CDs
It is easy to use, run the program, if you have internet access you can get all the information on each title before saving the mp3 files. These informations will be stored later in the Moodmixer database and you can search for them.

  • How can I convert other digital formats into mp3?

There are lots of pages with software, mostly free- or shareware for converting digital music:

Mp3 Converter

lists all you need to know!!!

wma to mp3 http://www.wma-mp3.com/ select one of these programs they are all very good! some even do other formats!
wav to mp3 Use EAC ( see above)
other formats see http://www.mp3-converter.biz/
  • How do I get BPM (beats per minute) values?

PWsoft are working very hard on finding someone who can develop an OCX,dll or any other component which we can incorporate into our software to automatically measure BPM (beats per minute) values. If you know somebody- please inform us!

So far we are using a nice tool developed by a danish developer: AutoBPM - thanks Bjarne

It automatically detects the BPM value if you are running it parallel to Moodmixer but we are afraid, you have to enter them yourselves into your database.
